New Props

The gate is an important part of our thriller opening as it symbolises that the girl is trapped and under the control of Nigel (trapped). It also shows how he is on the free side of the gate, how controlling he is and his authority.

The padlock backs up this interpretation by showing that Nigel has the power to lock someone in, he has the key and he knows how to use it. The girl behind is defenseless and without a key to this lock.

The writing/message left by Rosie is a signifcant prop within our opening as it shows her weakness and is a cry for help. It also shows how innocent she is by using leaves or twigs to make the message is something a child would do although it is a very clever thing to do at the time.
